Emarketing aka online marketing can super charge your business, that’s a fact. I’m always on the lookout for new innovative ways that small business owners are using emarketing strategies to boost their offline business efforts and today I heard of one that just made my week.
BRILLIANT LOCAL BUSINESS INNOVATION - THE BARBER
Installed a webcam into his barber shop that provided a live stream to his website so his customers could see how busy he was at any given time. i.e. if they didn’t want to wait or had a particularly busy schedule, they could simply logon to his website, see if there were many people waiting in line, if not, they could zip down to his shop.
What a way to provide additional servie to customers!!
Wonderfully innovative - I just love it!!
How could you bring technology and a new innovative idea into your present business?
When I am working with small to medium business owners and their online marketing strategies, one of the first things I suggest is to start a business blog. Why? Because a business blog delivers so many awesome benefits including more traffic to your website and better engagement with your customers.
Lee Oden an experienced writer on the topic of blogging and online marketing states that:
one of the most common issues with business blog success is fresh content.
I agree, that most business owners put up all sorts of objections when it comes to getting their business blog going. It just seems like an insurmountable idea. But it’s not as hard as you may think.
There are lots of business blog post ideas everywhere if you just open your eyes. Lee has some awesome ideas to share with us.

My favorite is is the idea of currating comments. I had never thought of this one before and I love it.
Lee suggests that we:
Aggregate the best comments from your blog or even other blogs according to a particular topic.
and we use those as our inspiration. So try looking for blogs in your industry that have active participants and use the blog comments as inspiration for your own blog posts.
So get started on that business blog and use Lee’s ideas to get your blog cranking!

Don’t just blog. Do interviews too.
Yep, that’s right interview people! When you interview people they help to fill your blog with their great knowledge and that sums up to equal great quality content. And following on from that comes a really great and interesting blog! I haven’t done it myself yet, but it’s on my definite to do list :)

Businesses need to drive monetary results—here is how to social media to generate new leads for your small business:
My customers are still asking the question ‘Why exactly do I need a website?’, isn’t it just a brochure? Or they try to tell me their customers don’t use the internet, or the website won’t bring them any new business!!
I know for a fact it does! I laid it out straight for one of my customers. This is exactly why….read it here
My thoughts are that emarketing is the way to the future for business. Traditional media is slowly filtering out and it’s time to get active, get engaged online, and prosper. Plenty of people are doing it but many business owners still don’t know that their website and the strategies they implement are like a good piece of real estate that will increase in value with age.
